The previous power quality test revealed a significant presence of current harmonics in the four transformers located in the distribution room of the shopping center and the distribution lines below them. The current harmonics aggravated the voltage distortion, causing the capacitor cabinets used under each transformer to be damaged to varying degrees.
Harmonic solution:
After a detailed analysis and examination of the harmonic content, it was determined that an active power filter would be installed under each of the above transformers, primarily to control the third and higher harmonics present in the system. After the current harmonic control, the third and higher current harmonics are also within the allowable value of the national standard, and the voltage harmonics are significantly reduced, effectively protecting transformers, distribution cabinets, and equipment, ensuring safety and extending the life of the equipment.
